The project has received three awards including a Highly Commended award for Excellence in Architectural Technology at the CIAT AT Awards 2019
The development for the London Borough of Lambeth provided a new 900 place secondary school in Streatham Vale, London, creating a rich and vibrant learning environment for both students and staff.
The new school facilities include a sports hall and changing complex, 4 multi-use games areas including 3G grass surfacing, ICT suite, modern teaching classrooms and attractive new landscaping including specific play areas around the campus.
Sustainable Construction Services undertook a retrospective Whole Life Carbon report on the completed complex, achieving a LETI Band D at practical completion.
The buildings finishes were one of the material categories with notable contributions to Embodied Carbon, particularly the floor finishes. Alternative finishes with a high recycled content compromising of natural materials and high durability were identified as potential opportunities in future projects.
