SCS played a crucial role in the Department of Biological Science project at the University of Bristol, working with the team for over five years to achieve a BREEAM Excellent rating for the new building.
Their involvement from the project’s inception included acting as sustainability champions, ensuring maximum opportunities for sustainability and energy conservation were implemented. The design of the building incorporated a split between office and laboratory accommodation, with a central atrium allowing for natural light penetration and serving as the social heart of the building. The project aimed to respond to urban demands while fulfilling the primary functions of the building.
