The Other House Covent Garden will provide a signature club flats, rooftop bar, bistro, restaurant, gym and wellness centre in Covent Garden.
The project involved a refurbishment of the historic building. The existing fabric will be re-used with an addition of a three-storey glazed atrium to allow natural light to flood the lower levels.
The early involvement of SCS was the key to find the most appropriate way to address BREEAM in this complex project based on a mix of refurbishment and extensions.
SCS are acting as BREEAM Assessor and BREEAM AP for the client during design and construction stages.
Also, SCS have advised on environmental impacts from construction products through the completion of Life Cycle Assessments during the design stages.
The project has been certified at design stage achieving an Excellent rating with a score of 78.9%. SCS is currently working with the main contractor to deliver BREEAM during construction.
