The University Learning Hub is designed to be low carbon providing a highly sustainable environment for work, study and collaboration. The design follow a ‘fabric first’ approach, with high levels of insulation and internal environments developed to maximise natural light and fresh air. Following this ‘fabric first’ approach, on-site renewables have been included, such as photovoltaic panels.
Sustainable Construction Services have been involved as energy modellers providing the following services:
- Energy Calculation in line with Part L Building Regulations.
- Heating and Cooling loads calculation.
- Energy Prediction in line with CIBSE TM54 requirements.
