This project involved the construction of two single storey buildings: a Community Centre and Sport Pavilion in Boorley Green, Hampshire.
SCS were appointed as BREEAM Assessor and BREEAM AP during design and construction stages, as well as the energy modellers and carbon consultants.
BREEAM Excellent was achieved as required for planning through:
- Natural ventilation in most of the areas
- Green roof
- Large provision of photovoltaic panels.
- Low water use fittings installed in the sport facilities to reduce excess water use.
- Use of materials that are responsibly sourced holding sourcing schemes.
Life Cycle Impact Assessment completed by SCS helped the contractor to select materials to reduce their cycle environmental impacts.
