1210 Arlington Business Park, Reading

1210 Arlington Business Park is a major refurbishment and extension of a 4,500m2 office building in Reading.

A great emphasis has been put on making the building fit for the post-covid office market with a focus on air quality, energy efficiency and human comfort.

This approach has been supported by the use of assessment schemes such as BREEAM, WiredScore and EPC targets to produce a high quality space. A large amount of work has also been put into the reconfiguration of the external façade to balance energy use, solar gain and daylight performance.

SCS have been directly involved in the project’s approach to NABERs. The focus was initially on the support the client’s understanding, followed by simulation modelling and target setting.

When taken to the construction stage, SCS will be providing direct support to the Main Contractor. This support will include hand-holding, simulation updating and consultation with the NABER’s appointed verifier.

As well as NABERS, SCS have also provided services including BREEAM, energy and comfort modelling, operational energy and Part L and embodied carbon modelling of materials.
