Launched in 2020 through a partnership between key UK industry organisations and NABERS Australia, NABERS UK aims to enhance energy efficiency in commercial buildings by measuring and verifying actual in-use energy performance. The scheme has garnered significant industry support, with nearly 150 office buildings setting NABERS UK Design for Performance targets.
NABERS has unveiled the appointment of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) as the new administrator for NABERS UK.
As part of this transition, it was great to attend yesterday’s Webinar hosted by CIBSE to get an update on the transition of NABERS from the BRE to CIBSE. Key points from the event included:

• The transition process from the BRE to CIBSE is still in progress.
• CIBSE’s target is to be fully operational by 1st July 2024.
• Registrations for new projects should be up and running in advance of this date.
• Project teams can already contact CIBSE to discuss the transfer of registrations.
• It will be business as usual by the summer!
