We are thrilled that 2 of our projects have been shortlisted by the BRE for the BREEAM Awards 2025.
The voco Zeal Hotel, Exeter
Nominated under the category of BREEAM New Construction Commercial the newly open voco Zeal Hotel is IHG’s first branded net zero carbon hotel. We have been working extensively with the contractor RED Construction to deliver BREEAM Outstanding as well as ensuring that the hotel has been built to the highest Sustainability standards. The four-star, 142-bedroom hotel has been constructed with half the embodied carbon of a standard hotel. It will generate 100 per cent of electricity consumed via the photo voltaic roof and wall panels, positioning it firmly in line with the 2050 Paris Agreement requirements and exceeding 2030 targets.
10 Station Road, Cambridge
Nominated under the category of Peoples Choice Commercial Building 10 Station Road is a innovative new office building. Although we can’t take credit for the BREEAM certification we carried out the BREEAM AP for the main contractor RG Carter. Owned by Brookgate Property the old office block was demolished and rebuilt with sustainability at it’s core including 10 EV charging bays, 193 storage cycle spaces, solar gain glass, air source heat pumps and PV panels on the roof. These energy feature’s have helped 10 Station Road achieve the highest EPC rating of A.
Each year, the BREEAM Awards shine a spotlight on remarkable achievements in the realm of sustainable building design, development, and management. These awards honor those projects and organisations that not only demonstrate exceptional performance but also pioneer innovative and scalable solutions for a sustainable future.
Chosen by an impartial judging panel, the winners represent the pinnacle of sustainable practices, making significant contributions to the well-being of communities and the preservation of our planet’s resources. The Peninsula Hotel in London will host the BREEAM Awards 2025 on 5 June 2025.
