No.1 Friary Temple Quay is a fantastic new office development directly adjacent to Bristol Temple Meads Train Station in heart of the city.
The seven storey state-of-the-art office building has utilised the basement, floor plates and structure of the original five storey office on the site.
SCS’s involvement of the project has been significant. Starting with energy statements for planning and pre- refurbishment audits. This was followed by energy, comfort and daylight modelling along with a BREEAM assessment targeting an Outstanding rating and embodied carbon studies.
However one of the most exciting aspects of the project was the targeting of a operational energy NABERs rating of 4*.
For the client and project team, SCS have provided NABERS modelling services and client support to navigate the requirements of the accreditation body.
For the Main Contractor SCS are providing a service equivalent to a BREEAM AP service i.e. hand-holding through the completion of the design development, construction and commissioning to ensure that at handover the target rating is on track to be achieved in operation.
